FamilySearch

This website uses FamilySearch to store information on the previous residents of Halsall and to build this information into family trees.  We can only store information on deceased people, not living persons.

FamilySearch is a cooperative tool, a single database of family trees. Thousands of people contribute by storing information about their peronal family history in FamilySearch and potentially joining all these records together into a single family tree.

We add records of Halsall residents to FamilySearch to potentially to show how all the historical family names in Halsall are linked.

If we collate information on people that cannot be included in FamilySearch then we will create a biography page.  All the biographies are listed on the Index page or a link in this format Richard Aspinwall

FamilySearch is free to use, with no adverts, no hidden costs, it is very easy to register an account. Once you have an account then links (like MHCN-1XS, their FamilySearch record code) will take you to their details presented in FamilySearch.

“FamilySearch is a nonprofit organization and its website offers genealogical records, education, and software. It is operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and is closely connected with the church’s Family History Department which is the largest genealogy organization in the world.[5]

FamilySearch maintains a collection of records, resources, and services designed to help people learn more about their family history. Although it requires user account registration, it offers free access to its resources and services online at FamilySearch.org.  The Family Tree section allows user-generated content to be contributed to the genealogical database. As of March 2023, there are over 1.5 billion individuals in the tree and the historical records database contains over 5.7 billion digital images, including digitized books, digitized microfilm, and other digital records.”
